And I am already feeling sick to my stomach with anxiety and nerves. This really sucks. Even the thought of the whole thing almost brings tears to my eyes! Seriously! I am gonna be such a mess tomorrow. I got a voicemail over the weekend on my home answering machine reminding me of the 2pm U/S appt AND another appt at 3:10pm. I immediately started to panic, thinking "oh my God! My bloodwork is in & it's bad and they just assume already that things are bad, so they have made me an immediate appointment with the genetic counselor or a perinatologist" I just called to clarify things, because for one, I am NOT up to any surprises with this whole NT scan appt thing like last time (when I went by myself not even KNOWING that they were doing the NT scan that day....I was just told I had an appt with the genetic counselor)and they told me that 2nd appt is just standard after the U/S, a check-up appt with an MD & that it really won't be at 3:10, it will be right after the U/S, its just how their computer schedules things. Ok, I feel a teeny tiny bit better. But not much. I really just want to throw up and cry.

11 weeks & 5 days
Wow! Almost out of the 1st trimester!! I cannot believe THAT! I am INCREDIBLY scared & nervous about Tuesday's NT Scan & bloodwork results (they should surely have my results in already that day since they took my blood on November 18th!) I am completely terrified...even as I now type about it I am beginning to feel light headed and sick. Breathe................
In other news, we went to Wal-Mart at 5am on Black Friday & scored an Ipod Touch PLUS a free $50 Itunes giftcard for Savannah. That is really all I wanted there. I thought I was also scoring two pairs of PJ's for Peyton at $3/each....but alas my bubble was burst when I got to the register & found out they were not on sale, they were their regular $9/each & that I had missed the $3 ones...they apparently were in a big pallet and were wrapped in plastic. Hmmmm.....maybe I will just stick with the attractive $9 ones.
I had to come back home yesterday evening so I could go work today & tomorrow...which reminds me, it is late & I swore I was going to bed early tonight. Not gonna happen I guess.....

Making my own laundry detergent
I am about to try to make a batch of my own laundry detergent...for the 1st time ever! I found the recipe online & have been wanting to try it out. It consists of the following:
Laundry soap or Castile Soap (grated finely)
1 cup Borax
1 cup washing soda
It is supposed to be very effective & very economical...my main goal. We shall see. So far, the Borax was $4.79 for a big box, and the bar of laundry soap I bought was 79 cents (I think in the future I can splurge for some kind of lavender scented castile soap or something, but for now, this was all the grocery store had! I do have Lavender drops that I may try to add to the mixture...). The washing soda is supposedly $3.99......I think the website I found said it costs about 10 cents per load of laundry!!?? Not too bad!
I just found out that I can buy the washing soda at my local Ace Hardware (after being unsuccessful at 2 local grocery stores) So, we are off to buy the washing soda and get to making.....we will update in a bit on how its going!!! (-:
It made about 16 oz. I put it all in the blender and it ground up the soap really well...to a powder. I am doing my 1st load right now. I must admit that the "Octagon" laundry soap I used does not smell that fabulous.....I added about 10 drops of lavender to the mix to hopefully compensate. I think in the future I will use a better smelling soap, like Dr Bonner's. But the way I made it...it's about 6 cents per load of laundry! And we do a lot of laundry around here!!
Update: I just took out the 1st load of laundry & it smells pretty good! I also ordered 3 bars of Dr Bonner's Castile soap from online...lavender, Eucalyptus & Almond. I might be making some homemade Christmas gifts.....(-:

10 weeks and one day
My appointment today was good! Great.....actually! We heard the HB on the doppler! I am so relieved! One more hurdle crossed. Next up, the NT scan on 12/1. They drew the blood today for the bloodwork part of the NT screen...my finger still hurts. )-: I will now spend the next 2 weeks praying that everything is ok!

First OB Appointment
Today's appointment was good, uneventful. The OB I saw today was very nice & I liked her. They took my history and did a pap smear and I had some blood work done. Nothing too exciting. No ultrasound. )-: Apparently, unless warranted, they only do the one major U/S at 18-20 weeks (excepting the NT scan if you opt for that). I have an appt in 2 weeks to meet with their Nurse Practicioner and to have my blood drawn for the NT scan. I assume she will do some "genetic counseling"....which I really do not need to hear, but maybe she won't. I have been there & done that & pretty much know it all, sorry if it sounds arrogant, but I do! Then on 12/1, when I am 12 weeks along, I will have the dreaded NT scan at 2pm. The Dr today told me that at age 36 my odds of having a baby with T-21 is 1/192. I didn't say anything, but that number seemed a little high to me. I googled it when I got home & sure enough, it is more like 1/300 for age 36. That makes me feel a bit better!
