Time flies!

Isabella is almost 4 weeks old, I cannot believe it! I have really been super bad at blogging since her birth & I am hoping to do better. I really want to have a record of all the little events going on in her young life, as I know all too well, this time will pass so quickly. We are all adjustinng well to our newest family member. Peyton is an awesome big brother & Meghan and Savannah love their litle sister as well. I am feeling close to 100% (aside from being sleep deprived), no more bleeding....I am ready to start jogging again, but I guess I will wait to get the ok from my Dr at 6 weeks postpartum. For now, I will stick to walking. That is, if the heat ever goes away! It has been so miserable here lately, I am really getting cabin fever from staying inside because of the heat. I love to be outside & to take walks, but you can't do that in 95 degree heat with a newborn. )-: We are in for some relief this week though...highs in the 80's, I am excited about that! My mom just left today...she was here for the past week. It was nice to have some extra help! We plan to go up tomy parent's house in the mountains this weekend...Isabella will get to meet her grandpa for the 1st time! For the past several days baby girl has had BADDDD gas! We are talking major gas, as in "did a grown adult do that??" Nope...it was her. Yesterday she farted non-stop all day and cried and fussed a lot. Finally, I decided to try the Similac Soy formula last night....and so far, so good! It has been 24 hrs and she is so much happier and no gas! Her doctor ok'd it, and we will be seeing him on Thursday for her 1 month check up anyways. Just for laughs, here is my belly 1 week after having Isabella. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to be at least 5 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight right now!??!

2 weeks old!

Isabella had her 2 week check up today & she is perfect! She is right back at her birth weight, 8lbs 1 oz...just as they like to see. Also, she measured at 22 1/2 inches long!!! Maybe she really was 22 inches at birth instead of 21 inches!? Anyways, to celebrate the occasion, I took some pictures of her tonight...

Our birth story

Ok, so it's been almost 2 weeks....I have been such a bad blogger! But here is our be-lated birth story....
I started noticing a lot of discharge down THERE (-: on June 2nd in the evening as well as low back cramping/aching. I just KNEW labor was starting. I went to bed & woke up at 3:30am with mild cramps...went to the bathroom & saw a tinge of blood on the TP & in the toilet. I laid down in bed and started to time the "cramps"....they were regular, about 6 min apart. At 4am, I got up again, more blood. I woke hubby up & told him that he better call his work & let them know he would not be in! LOL! By about 5/5:30am, I had showered and was ready to go. We took Peyton to our neighbor's house and were off to the hospital. Once there, I was admitted and given a room...contractions were 4-5 min apart & I was almost 5cm dilated. They started my IV and got the requisite fluid into me ASAP so I could get my epidural. Once that was in, I was golden! (-: I dilated very quickly to 9cm, but Isabella was a stubborn one & was really taking her time dropping down. Originally they thought I'd have her by 9am or so...but she didn't arrive til noon! Once she was down, they had me push a few times and out she came! Her apgars were 8 & 9 and she was perfect! They put her on my chest right away and I got to hold & cuddle her. They cleaned her up, weighed her...8lbs 1oz...she seemed so much smaller!!...and her length was 21". She is a long, lean little bean! Then, we got to spend about an hour together and she breast fed. She is beautiful! Dark brown hair, dark blue/gray eyes for now.....she looks just like me! (-:

She is now 12 days old and is such a good baby. We are all so in love with her! She is so laid back...she only fusses when she is wet or hungry! Peyton loves her so much, and is really loving being a big brother! Here are a few pictures...
